GARY A. SMITH, MD, DrPH
President, Child Injury Prevention Alliance
Dr. Gary A. Smith is Professor of Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and Epidemiology at the Ohio State University. He is founder and director of the Center for Injury Research and Policy in the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Smith is board certified in the specialties of pediatrics and general preventive medicine and public health, and in the subspecialty of pediatric emergency medicine. In addition to his clinical training, he holds MPH and DrPH degrees from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Smith has been an active researcher and advocate in the field of injury for more than 30 years. He was named as the first recipient of the Dimon R. McFerson Endowed Chair in Injury Research in 2007. His research and advocacy work focus on the prevention of injuries to children and adolescents, including motor vehicle-related injuries, consumer product-related injuries, and home safety.
ANN T. GALLAGHER
Vice President, Child Injury Prevention Alliance
Ms. Gallagher has a passion for injury prevention and is an active collaborator with the Center for Injury Research and Policy of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, USA. In her role as President of Gallagher Consulting Group, a strategic communications and research firm, she has worked with a variety of health care, non-profit, educational, and advocacy organizations.
ADISAK PLITPONKARNPIM, MD, MPH
Secretary, Child Injury Prevention Alliance
Dr. Plitponkarnpim is Professor of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, in Bangkok, Thailand. He is director of the Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center in the Department of Pediatrics, and is Assistant Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital. He serves in leadership positions on numerous child injury prevention committees for the Thailand National Safety Council, Ministry of Industry of Thailand, Child Protection Board, Consumer Protection Board, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.

Executive Director
Ms. Mehan brings more than 20 years of experience in management, research, marketing, communications, and health education to her role as executive director. Working in both corporate and non-profit settings has provided her with a broad spectrum of expertise perfectly suited to help her lead CIPA into the future.
